Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recorded outstanding victory in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 by winning 312 of UP’s 403 seats, the biggest majority for any party since 1980 clearly indicates Modi as  favorite choice for winner 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Demonetization has made people of the country to suffer but despite of that Modi’s policy has won the hearts of the people because of his sincere efforts which struck a principled blow to corrupt and the rich.

It was due to Modi’s vigorous campaigning, the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies state assembly seats in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and got good number of vote share in the states of Goa,Manipur and of course to a greater extent in the State of Punjab. Now these results will help Modi’s government to gain ground in the upper house of parliament, whose composition is dictated in part by state assemblies, and whose current members have stymied many of Modi’s economic reform proposals.

Modi is bringing relative political stability to India, by fragmenting the opposition and concentrating power in his hands, thus shifting the driver of economic growth from the private sector to the state, and freeing himself to conduct radical economic experiments like his currency cleansing. In the last two years, Prime Minister Modi unleashed number of economic policies to help the most marginalized. Social welfare schemes like Affordable Housing to all by 2022, free LPG connections for the BPL families and bank accounts for all are some of the major policy decisions undertaken by the Prime Minister in recent past.

However, job creation is one such area where Prime Minister Modi finds himself in a tight spot despite his multiple initiatives like Start-up India, Stand-up India, Skill India and Make in India.

Despite less job creation in last few years, the Prime Minister was still able to garner unprecedented support from the masses in recently concluded Assembly elections. So, what are these people-centric policies and in all likelihood will also boost his chances in 2019 General Elections.
