Kashmir receives fresh snow, rain; majority roads waterlogged

Srinagar, Apr 6 – Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, received fresh moderate to heavy snowfall and rain, resulting in considerable dip in the maximum and minimum temperatures.
Majority of the road have been waterlogged due to incessant rain since yesterday and snowfall from early this morning in the valley, particularly Srinagar city, paralysing normal life.
Meanwhile, people living near Jhelum have been asked to remain cautious as the water level in the river is on the rise while the residents living in low-lying areas allege that their houses and roads are submerged in rain water.
The authorities have already closed all education institutes till April 9 while universities have postponed examinations due to bad weather.
World-famous ski resort of Gulmarg was the coldest place in the region at minus 3.
